there it goes....well, i've been here and poking around in the backlogs of things...my inspirations run high, but my energy low. I don't manage to get much done these days, aside from work. I wish i could say i was doing fabulous and turning it all around, but... that's not the way it goes.So...with this, i will sadly be saying goodbye to my premium membership for a while. I went on a binge of donating points and memberships and didn't even realize i had my own membership expiring.Maybe i'll learn how much i loved it while i don't have it, and i'll be more grateful for having it once i can again.anyway....i'll be poking around a lot more... silently watching from the dark corners. Keep it gruesome out there!
Can You Spare Some Points?Hey guys..i've recently taken over at the :iconda-morgue: and have just discovered that we lost our super group status.I had no idea we were that close to losing it.AND..of course, it comes at a time when i have barely any points to put towards the 4000+ points needed to get our membership back.If you have a few points...doesn't matter how small....would you consider donating it?? i will have a large journal feature done showcasing all of the donors that put forth points.Thank you so much, even for just reading and considering donating.

LAST DAY.Today is July 1. which means ALL entries for my little contest ( http://jaded-ink.deviantart.com/journal/EXTENDED-I-m-giving-away-900-POINTS-373339827 )are due in today by midnight.thank you to everyone who entered. I appreciate the time you took to create something for me. later this week, i'm going to feature all the entries, and next week i will announce the winners. All of you did a wonderful job, and i couldn't have asked for anything more than this. You really helped raise my spirits.
EXTENDED!!!!! I'm giving away 900 POINTS!I've got some new stock up...well, newish.i want to see something awesome. i'm depressed and tired of the world, so i want to make a happy spot for someone.there are 900 points up for grab.tell you what you have to do? sure. take my stock. do something with it. send me a link in my notes.sound easy enough?there will be 3 winners.... i hate that whole 1st, 2nd, and 3rd thing...so instead of one getting better than the other, here's the deal...points will be separated out equally between top 3 entries... the judging will be done by more than just myself, i'll update that as i go along. unless i get like 2 entries...and then, why bother at all? I'm leaving the contest open for an entire month, so entries are due in JUNE 23rd. that gives some of you procrastinators and perfectionists time to get stuff in to me. I will have all winners announced by july 1st. If I dont get volunteers to help judge, I might run a poll for popular vote.EVERY ENTRY GETS A FEATURE, AND A LLAMA!TOP 3 ENTR

I'm having a hard time deciding what to get prints of for my booth. Time To Kick It In The Ass.obviously i'm not getting any better at keeping a journal.obviously, my updating here SUCKS.however. Its time to change that.its time to do something worthwhile.I was looking on my harddrive and realized i had about 5 pieces i've not uploaded yet. i worked on them, and then left them by the side of the world just waiting for the day i would maybe do something with them.so. i guess i'll upload them.Also. i think i'll be spending more time at the :icondarkart-challenges: side trying to help max out. even though i feel almost entirely left shoe in a right foot world most days, i think i might be able to try to focus there. i need a moment of organization and someone to help keep me in line. the life i have leaves me in complete chaos almost always, and lately the only schedules i know is wake up, go to work, go home, go to bed...and repeat.its time for a change.so. there you have it. I'll be doing a feature next week, maybe tuesday.and i'm doing a mini give away. get i
Collection: HandsShare|AboutHandsA subject’s hands are the make–up artist’s nightmare. But a subject’s hands are the artist’s delight. All the lines, scars or arthritic bumps are a road map of our lives. The smooth or rough of the skin indicates a life of labor or leisure (or, at least, cerebral tasks). The gesticulations of the hands, captured by the alert and sensitive artist, can often articulate so much more than mere words.“Now join your hands, and with your hands your hearts.”– William ShakespeareKeep Tryinby Benowski
Norman Rockwell, All American DeviantShare|AboutNorman Rockwell, All American DeviantBy techgnoticNorman Rockwell Tribute by SarafinconceptsFew artists have so definitively reflected the lives of average Americans as Norman Rockwell. He began his lifetime dedication to being the “America’s Illustrator” as the 19-year-old art editor for Boys’ Life, the house publication of the Boy Scouts of America. A few years later he assumed his more famous position at The Saturday Evening Post, though he never broke his ties with the Boy Scouts. His first great achievement painting everyday scenes of America in his signature hyper-realistic style was
Collection: StarsShare|AboutStarsPhotographs and paintings of stars occupy that category of things you know are so, and yet it’s not quite possible to believe. One example is radio or television “signals” traveling in “waves” through the air, only to be reassembled for your listening or viewing pleasure in your living room radio or TV. Looking at clusters of stars lighting up the night sky like massive storm clouds, it’s impossible to think of those stars, those points of light, as separate massive burning suns, even though I know it’s so. Sometimes the most powerful magic requires no deception at all. The natural universe is more mystifying in its sheer numbers than any magician’s most mind–bending sleight of hand.“I am like a falli

Collection: Haunted HousesShare|AboutHaunted HousesComing across a deserted house, whether hidden by the distance of a rolling countryside or by the shadows of adjoining city ghetto dwellings, is like stumbling across an unnoticed, unburied corpse. It is obviously dead now, but once it was full of lives. Coming across a haunted house is different. Deserted or still occupied, it is a place where lives, unsatisfied, have refused to move on into a full death. The houses reflect their tenants. They are living dead structures, refusing to return to dust.“What terrified me will terrify others; and I need only describe the spectre which had haunted my midnight pillow”– Mary Shelley

Collection: MasksShare|AboutMasksHalloween is a time for masks. Aliens, zombies, vampires and werewolves will soon walk the suburban streets in search of tasty treats. But then there is the next level of masks—the likenesses of movie stars, politicians and other celebrities with their most unflattering features exaggerated. Cheap shots, to be sure, but alibied as “satire.” We finally arrive at the “non–off–the–rack” mask–making of actual make–up artists. Here’s where the mask one chooses tells us things about the person we only thought we knew. You see, the scariest thing about masks is their very concept—of a friend or loved one, beneath the surface, not really being the person you know at all. That is a truly fearful thi
