The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

So...
I decided to get crazy. I started a Twitter...and a Tumblr. Happened to have randomly searched my own name in google images and came upon a few posts of my work on Tumblr. It made me think first off..wow. i need a watermark or a signature. and secondly...i should be on these sites too!
i'm still not convinced that i need a facebook. i hate the entire idea of it. and i feel like i'd be betraying myself by getting one.

facebook is the devil

anyway. if you are on either of these little things, add me. or...tell me how the hell to use the thing.

well, i know how to post little blips. but...imbedding images i haven't figured out. but i started it last night so...i haven't spent much time on it. i think i'll probably just be more interested in what other people post. and thats the other reason i'm curious as to who else is on them, so i can follow them there.

give me something to tweet about.

and yes. this is as exciting as my life gets. THIS is "crazy" news in my life.

YAY! I'm glad to see your ever expanding presence on Twitter and Tumblr! And yes! Watermarking is a great idea! I dislike the huge watermarks that are stamped on a pic, so I upload mine with my url poked in the corner. That way, if someone posts my work elsewhere, at least the audience can go to said url and find me.
